Solid Rock

I've been tempted to try out vlogging since I first received my Flip Cam when I went to Miami back in May. I had a few obstacles to go through before today. The software needed to be updated then my pc died on me. Thankfully Tony backed up my files before he re-installed XP. However, it took me a few months to fully recover everything for a number of reasons I don't want to bore you with. My first vlog was produced by my new laptop but, I don't know how to share it from there just yet.

This little production was completely spontaneous so, please excuse my messy hair and serious lack of make-up.

I hope you will enjoy it:

Let me know what you think!!

Hi Catalina, congratulations on your first blog. I don't understand why the brown sugar was in a block. Could you have used the granular ones?

Actually my son made the prepackaged ones last night and tempted me with some last night. It's nice to do homemade though.:)

You are brave to try and break that up!!!

I would have just completely forgot about making cookies and gone out and buy some.

@Blanca ~ I had stored my brown sugar in the back part of my refrigerator some months ago. It bothers me to throw food out so I was determined to use the block of sugar one way or another.

@Marcela ~ More determined than brave to have some home baked cookies. BTW, they are very yummy! :D

@Liz ~ Gracias!!! It was so much fun putting the video together. I just had one of those inspirational moments and went with it.

Thank you ladies!!!

Catalina - very nice - congrats on your video!

I have to admit I was a little worried you might cut yourself when slicing the sugar. Do you mind some unsolicited advice? If this ever happens again (and you probably won't let it :-) lay the sugar flat and maybe wrap a portion of it in a clean kitchen towel - that way it's steady and won't wiggle. Or lay it flat and hold it down with a fork in one hand and a knife in the right.

Good looking cookies!

@Strivingbean ~ ROFL!! My assistant was busy doing homework during the chopping take. Yes, my knife is razor sharp but luckily I am ambidextrous. Next time I'm going to avoid having my brown sugar turn into a rock by storing it in the cupboard. ~ Glad you liked the cookies. :)
