Over the holidays with all the company coming and going from our little casita and us going to visit others, I noticed something strange about me. As I sat in various chairs through this time I struggled to cross my legs. {scratches head and hand quizzically points out}...Pues que paso? Yoga!! That's it!! I thought to myself...my hips are just stiff because I have not been going to my yoga classes regularly these past couple of months or so. Following this new revelation I go to class and I struggle with the forward bends I have been doing for more than six years. Too much cushion, I reason....mi pansa, it's been looking like a queen size pillow lately. I'm bloated that's all.
As I review the photos I have taken recently, I notice a pudgy lady looking back at me. Aye!! Quien es eya? No problem, I can edit the photos by cropping out my puffy arms. January rolls in smoothly and lazily for me. My younger boys are back in school today from their winter break, hubby is at work and, I am waiting to help my eldest with an errand. As Andrew prepares himself for the day he receives a phone call that liberates him from his errand. At this point I was cozy in my oversized sofa chair journaling my thoughts. Baby tells me that now that he is free for the day he has decided to go to the gym . Looking up at him from my comfort, I say, "I should go with you". Baby, giving me a concerned look back nods his head, "you should". {Bites lips while shrugging back in a bit of shame.}
January has rolled in a new year with many comitting themselves to resolutions they will more than likely not keep. Me?!? Si, si, yo se but, I'm gonna do it and stick to my goals for the year. As long as I change the word from resolution to goal I think it will be easier to keep up with what I have decided to challenge myself to this year.
First Goal: Go to the gym at least five times a week. Even if I am on my cycle/period!!! (one of my favorite excuses to stay home.)
Second Goal: Commit to writing at least one page for my book per week. No te ries!! This is my Mount Everest! I know I am no literary expert but, this is a challenge I've been itching to tackle. A page a week may seem like too much but I need this span of time to figure out how to go about writing a novel. Aver como me va.
Third Goal: Yoga classes are not free so, I must go at least once a week this whole year!! NO EXCUSES!!
All my goals are ready and set to go! Okay, go ahead and chuckle away at my Mount Everest; I'm going to do it anyways, even if it does not get published. As for my other goals....2010 watch out!! I'm more determined than ever to take you on!!....as long as I'm not working. ; ) LOL!! The excuses are flooding in.
