Here are the rules: Go to your photos, then to your eighth folder, then to your eighth picture.
Now share your story:
Wow, this picture was taken more than a year ago at my niece's first birthday party. However, she is not in this shot. Funny how pictures get buried over time.
Awww, this photo is special to me. My family is spread out so we hardly get together for anything. Although there are many missing, this picture captures a small handful of my family from my maternal side. Lujan is my grandmother's name. Her sister, my great-aunt, is to the far right of the photo. There is very little we all know about my grandmother's history because she and her siblings were adopted by a family friend. Each time we get together we learn pieces about her mysterious background.
From my understanding and recollection, my grandmother is at least second generation in this country from Mexico. We don't know where her family came from, but we think they were from Chihuahua, Mexico because they lived closed to the boarder for many years. She had a very harsh life to put it delicately. Although she lived with us (my mother and siblings) for a few years, I learned very little about her then. She passed away when I was a teenager. Now that I am older, I wished I would have asked her about her story. I feel as though I lost a lot of my heritage because it has been filtered by separate events in our lives.
I think I need to organize a family re-union of some sort soon.
Okay, now it is your turn:

Yup, I think it's time for a family reunion.
I did not get along with my grandmother and now I regret not asking her more about her life.
Very special picture!
Awh - that's such a special story. I hope it really does spur you to organize a family reunion. Too often our older relatives pass before we realize how important their stories are.
Thanks for tagging me but I just looked in my pictures and I don't even have an eighth folder! I used to have dozens of picture folders and hundreds of photos but my computer almost crashed last year so I had to clear them off and save them outside the computer. LOL.
My grandmother has been on my mind, it's strange that I ended with a photo that made me think of her more.
@Unknown Mami ~ Sometimes personalities crash. We all had a hard time conversing with my grandmother when she was alive. She had a difficult personality. Her life had molded her into a bristly person. lol!
@Marcela ~ Thanks chica!!
@Tracy ~ I don't have an eighth folder either [only seven folders]. In that folder I have only 4 pictures. HA!! That's what I used.
Most of my pictures have been stored in a program that corrupted them over time. That's when I started to use folders to keep them safe.
Have fun with it chica!!
