Don't sink my....

This is the first year I have my boys in just two daytime activities- Boy Scouts and band. Last year I went into a crazy momma mode. They also took part in summer enrichment classes, swim classes, and merit badge classes. We rushed from one activity to another and had dinner on the road. It was so ridiculous that in order to save time I had my boys wear their swim trunks under their pants. That way we saved time when I picked them up from band practice as I drove them to swim classes. It was NUTS!!

Scouts and band are a given each year because they are ongoing programs my boys participate in. Aside from that, I have granted their wish to limit their activities this summer. A true vacation from the craziness of the school year. Given that my boys have much more free time than ever before they have found numerous ways to keep busy at home without resorting to video games. They play cards, they look up science facts on the web, and help around the house.

At a recent trip to our local Target, my boys did their best to convince me to buy them a board game. I hesitated a bit because we have plenty at home they hardly touch. Finally giving in to their enthusiasm, they popped out with a kiddie game- Don't sink my battle ship. *rolls eyes* I thought- no way, they'll be bored within a day or two. Examining my boys a bit and wondering if it was worth the expense, I said okay.

Surprise, surprise- they love the silly game!!
